Another breakthrough from a Tech-Giant Google on their newly introduced PIXEL’s line of smartphone. Android Police has reported on Friday that Google will update camera app on 18th October 2018 on its Pixel’s smartphone which supports external microphone while recording a video. Isaac from Google’s app engineering team said on Google’s forum “Hi, folks -- Isaac here from the Pixel Camera engineering team. I have been keeping an eye on this thread since the beginning and have good news. At the same time as Pixel 3 launch (October 18th), we will introduce support for Android-compatible plugged-in external microphones in the default camera app for all Pixels. I hope you all enjoy the update.”
Google’s Pixel phones are getting famous for their remarkable still photos and extraordinary image stabilization for videos, but the audio capture is not that remarkable. External microphones can be plugged in USB-C port or the headphone jack if you are using the original Pixel microphone.
Although some Third-Party app like Open Camera have already introduced the idea of external microphone but only for recording audio whereas, Pixel can handle videos. This will definitely help Vloggers and people who use phones for their content creation to have a stock-app which looks after all the recording needs.
Google has decided to make this update available at the time of their Pixel 3 launch on 18th October. If you have any name of well-reviewed external microphones compatible with Android, list them in the comment section.
