Quantum Computing

Ever imagined existence of Robots in our everyday schedule. Well yeah, definitely we have seen a lot of movies having Humanoids having Artificial Intelligence for making and breaking the world. But this is not a fantasy anymore. Hanson Robotics, a Hong Kong-based Engineering and Robotics company which is best known for developing more human-like robots or humanoids with Artificial Intelligence for entertainment, healthcare, consumer, service, and research applications have introduced SOPHIA. She is modeled after the British actress Audrey Hepburn who was a model, dancer and a humanitarian as well.

Sophia was first activated on 19th April 2015 and made her first public appearance in March 2016 at South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, USA. This humanoid has the ability to display 50 facial expressions.

Although there are so many robots being introduced in the past, Sophia is storming the attention because of her more human-like appearance and behavior as compared to previous robotic variants. According to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hanson Robotics, Mr. David Hanson says that not only Sophia uses Visual Data Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and Facial Recognition, she can imitate human gestures, facial expressions and is able to answer certain questions and have some simple conversation preinstalled topics such as weather etc. Alphabet Inc., a parent company of Google has provided Sophia Voice Recognition (Text-to-Speech) technology and it is designed in a way to get smarter over time. SingularityNET has designed Intelligence software for Sophia which is able to analyze conversation and get the data that allows her to improve her responses by time. Sophia is the world’s very first humanoid to be awarded a nationality of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in late October 2017.

The main idea of developing Sophia according to David Hanson is to assist the elderly in nursing homes, assist people at large events or parks. He also said that he is hopeful that robots can finally interact with humans and gain social skills.

Sophia has even got humanoid SIBLINGS also being created by Hanson Robotics named Albert Einstein HUBO, BINA48, Alice, Han, Professor Einstein, Jules, Philip K. Dick Android, Zeno, and Joey Chaos.

We are hopeful that soon they will available in the market and assisting humans any many aspects. Let’s just hope they won’t turn bad as shown in the movies… Haha just kidding.
